About Janet Foley

Janet works with kiln fired fused glass creating unique, colorful one-of-a kind custom designs. Color, pattern, texture, and shapes are used to create a kaleidoscope design of brilliant colored glass mosaics. Each large glass piece contains 300 – 1500 individually hand cut pieces of glass that are stacked upon one another to create a quilt-like pattern.  The pieces are slowly fired in a kiln at 1430 – 1500 degrees until the glass pieces have been fused and melted into each other.  The mosaic glass is then refired on a mold that forms them into bowls, vases, tabletops, mirrors tiles, masks, address plaques and name plaques to create functional art glass.

"Everywhere around me, from nature to artwork, from landscapes to manscapes, I see and dream in vivid colors and patterns.  My work in fused glass has been influenced by these beautiful everyday inspirations."
